Synopsis: The purpose of this study is to test whether SU-011,248 is active and safe in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer who have received and failed several specific standard therapies.

  Interventional, Treatment, Non-Randomized, Open Label, Uncontrolled, Single Group Assignment, Safety/Efficacy Study
Minimum Age/Maximum Age: 18 Years/
Genders: Both
Protocol Entry Criteria: - Histologically or cytologically proven diagnosis of colorectal adenocarcinoma that is not amenable to surgery, radiation, or combined modality therapy with curative intent - Received treatment with irinotecan, oxaliplatin, and a fluoropyrimidine given in any combination or sequence in the adjuvant and/or advanced stage disease treatment settings - May have received treatment with bevacizumab in the advanced disease setting - Relapse or progression of disease during treatment or within 6 months after the most recent regimen including irinotecan, oxaliplatin, fluoropyrimidine or bevacizumab - Disease that can be measured using radiographic techniques - Male or female, 18 years of age or older - ECOG performance status 0 or 1 - Adequate organ function - Not more than 3 prior regimens of systemic chemotherapy for advanced disease - No prior treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors or vascular endothelial growth factor inhibitors other than bevacizumab - No known brain or leptominingeal disease - No diagnosis of other malignancy within the last 5 years, except for adequately treated basal cell or squamous cell skin cancer, or for in situ carcinoma of the cervix uteri - No serious acute or chronic illnesses or recent history of significant cardiac abnormality
