Synopsis: A Phase IV, multicenter study of hospitalized patients with complicated intra-abdominal infection.

Study Type: Interventional, Treatment
Minimum Age/Maximum Age: 18 Years/
Genders: Both
Protocol Entry Criteria: Inclusion Criteria - Written informed consent. - Hospitalized patients greater than or equal to 18 years of age. - Must have signs and symptoms of complicated intra-abdominal infection - Must have surgery +/- 24hrs of first dose of test article. - Life expectancy of greater than 30 days. Exclusion Criteria - Patients with necrotizing pancreatitis. - Known or suspected allergy to penicillins or beta-lactamase inhibitors. - Pregnant or lactating females. - Patients with severe underlying medical problems.
