Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome Clinical Trials References presented on Clinical Trials Search isn't meant to be a substitute for proven healthcare advice, trips or professional assistance using a genuine physician. We are not docs. Always confer with your physician about Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome conditions. Clinical Trials Search.org is a site devoted to listing clinical research studies in human subjects. Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome Clinical research trials and Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome healthcare trials happen in hundreds of localities throughout the United States of America. A clinical trial or clinical study is a research project with human volunteer subjects. Clinical drug trials and pharmaceutical clinical trials usually evaluate the potency of new drugs. The propose of the studies / projects is to answer particular human health questions. Clinical trials are a popular way for mDs, government agencies, and private sector companies to detect cures for all sorts of conditions, such as Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome. Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome Clinical Trials and other clinical trials allow volunteers to acquire healthcare treatment choices before they are available to the general public. Some times the subjects recieve professional assistance for free, and every now and again they are compensated for their time. Sometimes there is a cost for a Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome clinical trial. Subjects frequently obtain the most expert healthcare possible for their Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome condition. Risks are a reality, nevertheless, and can include more or frequent doctor trips, medical risks (possibly life-threatening), and/or the treatment being uneffective. Trials are federally governed with stern guidelines to protect clinical trials patients.

Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome

Immunologic Evaluation in Patients With DiGeorge Syndrome or Velocardiofacial Syndrome

For Condition: Shprintzen syndrome,Conotruncal Cardiac Defects,Abnormalities, Multiple,Chromosome Abnormalities,DiGeorge Syndrome
Status: Recruiting
Sponsor(s): National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) , Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Synopsis: OBJECTIVES: I. Determine the pattern of immunologic reconstitution in patients with T-cell compromise due to DiGeorge syndrome or velocardiofacial syndrome. II. Determine any correlation between immunologic function in these patients and chromosome 22 deletion breakpoints. III. Determine presence of sustained immunologic compromise in older patients.
Details: PROTOCOL OUTLINE: Blood samples are collected at diagnosis of chromosome 22q11 deletion and assessed for lymphocyte proliferation in response to mitogens phytohemagglutinin, pokeweed mitogen, and concanavalin A (mitogen stimulation analyses). These analyses are repeated at 4 months along with a quantitative analysis of immunoglobulin. At 8 months, patients are tested for their lymphocytes' ability to respond to antigens (candida, tetanus, and diphtheria). At 1 year, patients have lymphocyte subset, IgG, IgA, and IgM analyses performed. Quantitative evaluations of antibody titers to diphtheria, tetanus, Haemophilus influenza, and hepatitis B are also performed. Over 1 year of age, all studies are performed if the patient is seen for a single visit.
