Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma Clinical Trials Data presented on Clinical Trials Search is not meant to be a substitute for qualified health advice, visits or treatment with a real mD. We are not doctors. Always consult your doctor about Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma conditions. Clinical Trials Search.org is a site devoted to listing clinical research studies in human subjects. Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma Clinical research trials and Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma healthcare trials happen in many of places across the United States. A clinical trial or clinical study is a research project with human volunteer subjects. Clinical drug trials and pharmaceutical clinical trials generally assess the effectivity of new drugs. The purpose of the studies / projects is to solve particular human medical questions. Clinical trials are a popular way for doctors, government agencies, and private sector companies to discover cures for all varieties of conditions, such as Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma. Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma Clinical Trials and other clinical trials allow volunteers to have health treatment alternatives before they are available to the masses. Some times the human subjects obtain treatment for without cost, and sometimes they are compensated for their time. Occasionally there is a cost for a Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma clinical trial. Test subjects oftentimes receive the most effective healthcare possible for their Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma condition. Dangers are a reality, however, and may include extra or frequent physician visits, healthcare dangers (possibly life-jeopardising), and/or the treatment being uneffective. Trials are federally governed with rigorous guidelines to protect clinical trials patients.

Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma

Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Advanced Mesothelioma

For Condition: advanced malignant mesothelioma, recurrent malignant mesothelioma
Status: Recruiting
Sponsor(s): Burzynski Research Institute ,
Synopsis: RATIONALE: Antineoplastons are naturally-occurring substances that may also be made in the laboratory. Antineoplastons may inhibit the growth of cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial studies the effectiveness of antineoplaston therapy in treating patients who have advanced mesothelioma.
Details: OBJECTIVES: - Provide treatment with antineoplastons A10 and AS2-1 to patients with stage IV mesothelioma. - Describe the response to, tolerance to, and side effects of this regimen in these patients. OUTLINE: Patients receive gradually escalating doses of antineoplaston A10 and antineoplaston AS2-1 IV six times per day until the maximum dose is reached. Treatment continues for at least 3 months in the absence of disease progression or unacceptable toxicity. After 3 months, patients with stable or responding disease may continue treatment. Patients achieving complete response (CR) continue treatment for at least 8 months beyond CR. Patients are followed every 2 months for 1 year and then every 3 months for 1 year. PROJECTED ACCRUAL: Approximately 20-40 patients will be accrued for this study.
